West Allis, Wis.

2/18/31

Hello! My darling Sweetheart, Pal, Honeybunch! How is my darling today?

I hope your hip feels better by now. I wonder what causes that? You’ve had that before the little Aa-link[?] was born didn’t you dearest? Excuse me for about a half hour I gotta eat supper. It’s done. You will dear heart, won’t ya? Huh? Okeh! Baby I had supper – it didn’t take me long did it dear heart?

Rec’d your letter of 2/17 today it was such an interesting letter. My darling so our Nancy is a bad little girl what tricks is she up to now?

My dearest I couldn’t see you coming home on the train Nancy wouldn’t behave you’d have an awful time with inspite of my being there with you & every ready to tell her to be quiet. You know my dearest how hard it is for me alone here. Maybe in two weeks you could come home do you think so?

My darling I’m coming up on Friday night – 12:45 train if I’d take the C.N.W. I’d get here so late on Monday. My darling I had a pretty fair meal at Oscar’s last night. I didn’t come home last night to sleep – I slept at Mrs. Quade’s house. Tonight I had meat & spuds. Tell ma to have something good for dinner Sunday will you dear heart? Lois asked me last night where you were. What do you think of that and she played with me and she insisted to kiss me good night. Funny, kids always get to like me after a little beyond babyland & wonder how our little daughter will like her daddy? Everybody treated me fine at the Quades and they are glad of everything. Cecil wants to give you some of Lois’ dresses. Nancy will certainly have enough things won’t she dear heart?

Don’t be afraid of it that pain in your hip will keep up I’m sure that’ll pass over again I guess it’s from the strain on those bones. What did the doctor say about it? I’ll bring some dope along for you to use.

Glad news dear heart – my cold is almost all gone I don’t cough much at all anymore.

Got the gas bill today – 50¢ how’s that? – It’s the lowest or minimum bill that you can get.

So Nancy has a big dairy farm she has something which her Grandpa Polzin is still trying to bring about. They didn’t get that loan yet I understand.

Don’t you worry my darling I’ll be up Saturday (Sunday morning with – clothes on!

Don’t be angry at me for not writing to you last night dearest, as I told you before I was to Oscar’s.

Nancy’s wardrobe is just like Cecil got for that shower.

I’m not painting tonight nor will I wash dishes I still have one plate in the cupboard so I’ll wash dishes after that one gets dirty. How’s that for a piggy wiggy?

You ask about those stroppers. I delivered one, but I still have to deliver two more. I guess I’ll deliver them tomorrow.

Oscar is all full of boils again. I told him to eat yeast & get some fresh air. I made his income tax out for him last night. That paid for my supper he figured I guess – I wish I’d eaten twice as much. You ask about my soiled clothes I’ll bring that along Saturday.

How is the weather up there? It rained & then snowed & then rained today – so awful damp.

That’s the ger-e[?] flu weather allright or right alright so I’d better pull in my neck.

Mr. & Mrs. Schultz went to church tonight & after they came back they want me to help them on the books – maybe I will & most likely I won’t. I just looked at the sink there’s 5 milk bottles lined up on it. Don’t think I won’t have a dish washing spree after I get started.

Nothing interesting has happened in the last few days. Please dear heart let me warn you – don’t let people who have kids at home get too close to Nancy Lee they might be dragging Germs with them. It gets my goat that your Aunt & Mabel Hein came dragging around thru when Leroy has the whooping cough not much sense used by them there. Don’t let strangers fondle her either. Well dearest little pal I’ll sign off till tomorrow. With a million kisses (I’m longing for a real one) from

Hubby & Daddie

Wallie
