Dearest Sweetheart Wallie:

I’ll write a few lines while Nancy Lee is sleeping beside me — she’s in my left arm. Really, the little Dear doesn’t like to sleep unless she’s near me. Guess she knows who I am now.

Mother called Dr. Reist and told him about the pain in my hip. He asked Milton to come down & get some pills which he did. He also cashed the check you sent & paid the balance at the Dr. Dr. Reist charges for the examination which was quite a surprise to us. So the balance was $17.00 instead of $15.00. Milton brought a receipt for $17.00 and they’re going to mail one for the first $10.00 you paid.

Nothing exciting has happened since yesterday — no inquisitive visitors. Tonight you’re invited out for supper — I hope you enjoy it real much, Sweetheart.

It’s snowing here, have you had more down there? I wish Spring would come soon.

Dearest, have you delivered those stroppers already? I just thought I’d remind you because you mentioned that you might have delivered them before you came up.

Our Aunt Sophie told Dad she’s so hurt because we didn’t call & let her know about the baby. I don’t care if she is because we didn’t call anybody.

I think Mother liked it when you put your arms around her. She thinks so much of our baby, Sweetheart, and also of you. You’ve won her over as we always said.

Nancy Lee has been sleeping well the last few nights. Today she’s wide-eyed all the time, so another good night ought to be the result. She’s getting smarter everyday, and just loves to be fussed with. Everybody thinks she’s a sweet baby but they can’t think she’s as sweet as we do, can they, Dear?

I hope I can write a longer letter tomorrow, Sweetheart. You’ll excuse this one, won’t you? I’ll be glad to be up again.

Goodbye Dear Heart,

with Love from Nancy & me

to our Dear Daddy & Lover

(P.S. Box was received O.K. she will write more about it tomrrow. “Marie.”)

My darling Sweetheart:

Hello how are you today? I just came from Clyde’s house. I had supper with them. I’m going to talk like the women do after they come back from a visit. They also have a jacquard velour living room set. Their dining room set is nothing to rave about so my darling our stuff isn’t half bad one bit.

For supper I or we had home made chop suey – tasted real good to me!

Mrs. Schultz promised me some potatoe pancakes I wonder if she’ll give me some tomorrow?

I didn’t get a letter from you today and I always get worried when I don’t hear from you I right away get this idea that something is wrong.

You must excuse the writing the word yet – I’m writing this to you in bed as I’m so tired. I didn’t get to bed until 2 o’clock this morning. I was down by Schultz’s working on their books. They can’t keep their old check book right for any thing.

How are you feeling my dear and how is Nancy Lee? Yesterday she was one week old. Does she look that much older already. It sure is heck that my family must be so far away from me. I hope you’ll be coming home soon, my little sweethearts! You will, won’t you please my darling?

I suppose by this time you received those boxes. I hope everything reached you okeh. What does dad think about those price cards? I had some steel shelf holder or clips that go with those cards but I don’t know what became of them. Wasn’t that cute of Nancy Lee to write you those notes about those diapers & blankets but they wouldn’t be so cute if that box was opened at the Post Office it would have been a pretty expensive box to mail don’t you think so?

My darling you must excuse this letter because of its shortness but I thought better to send a little than nothing at all.

Goodnight dearest wifey

Your hubby

Wallie
