Oshkosh, Wis.

3/25/29

Hello, My darling:

Just got in from a long day’s work and it’s 5:15 P.M. and started right in to write to you so that you would possibly receive it Tuesday.

I got in all safe & sound but sort of tired but what do we care about being tired, eh sweetheart?  We’ll make up for lost sleep during the week.  I got in at 7:48 – 5 minutes or better yet 300 seconds late but that wasn’t bad.  I got on the job before Mr. Mollerus at that.  And he was in last night before midnight, so he tells me.  I had my breakfast at Green Bay.  I have my room back again which I occupied all last week.

How are you my darling?  Did you hit the hay early?  I know my sweetheart you were very tired but we had such a good time yesterday that that don’t phase us.  I had lunch with “Andy” this noon and while waiting for my feed I glanced down on my vest and what do you suppose I discovered?  I bet your thinking of a “gravy spot.”  No my darling, if you thought that you are far off the track – I found one of your hair – that right away brought me memories of our wonderful thrilling “hour & ½ wake.”  Oh my darling I love to hold you in my arms!  And will always relish the opportunity of holding you like that.

“Andy” tried to kid me about being “tired out” this morning and my darling at noon time I told him of our plans & what do you “zink?” – he thought that “altogether fitting & proper” – we know our groceries don’t we my dearest?

I arrived at the C.N.W. depot at Wausau at 10 minutes of two & I didn’t run either but I sure did lift my feet in fast strides.

How was the weather after I left?  They had a pretty “hushy” thunderstorm here.  But I didn’t notice anything of the sort on the train.  And that train did step! – Just my speed.

Did your father find out about our visit at your Aunt & Uncle’s?  We should care if they did we did have such a lovely time there didn’t we?  And such a nice supper.  Tell your Aunt that I think she is a very good cook, but not quite as good as my darling Mabel oh no siree none can beat her.  She beats them all & that includes eggs too!

My darling I’m already planning for my visit with you this coming week end.  Are you glad?  And I’ll have to get in touch with the “Oster Haas” so that he’ll bring something else besides only “coffee beans.” – now don’t get peaved my darling will you?

Just wait till the gang sees us after we tell ‘em we’re married we’ll try & make that real soon – wot say, my dear heart?  That’ll surprise ‘em all – you tell ‘em. – “Yaap.”

I’ll tell you something funny which we ran across today, when I see you Saturday.

Did you see that mamaw at whose house we visited last night?  I bet she’ll tell you that their opinion of me is that I’m a “big prune.” But I don’t give one hang if she does because they really “maach nix ann” by me.

My dearest, I’m going to sign off for tonight because it’s six bells I’ll take this letter to the P.O. now with great hope that you’ll get it tomorrow.

Take care of yourself my darling, for my sake and with all the love & kisses in the world,

 I am,

Forever yours,

Wallie
